Mahjulah Singapura

8Aug
=======================================

Has been tired for the past few days but nevertheless agreed to a late night mahjong session with my usual mahjong kakies. I went home for dinner and packed my bags and we met at my friend's condo for some junk food and mahjong, which became our favourite passtime over the years. Previously our passtime would be composing music. We still do, just not so frequent now when everyone is busy working and has lesser time to compose. I wrote many lyrics but some are still stuck with various music composers.

As we munch and pung, we debated on our favourite ice-cream. Two of them were chocolate fanatics. One would love any chocolate ice-cream while the other love ben and jerry's fish food. Hubby got no particular preference while me, I only like vanilla or strawberry ice-cream. But I never have a crave for ice-cream. Its something that i can do without. I love cholocolates, but somehow i just couldnt stand chocolate ice-cream. Same goes with chocolate milk. Funny they thought.

After 4 seasons, I finally decide that we had enough and went to bed. That night I lost $8 and Hubby won $18. But anyway had great fun and look forward to the next day's session. Previously, we tried playing thru the whole night but found out that we are all too "old" and will all fall sleep around 4+. Jumped into bed and hope to sleep.

9 Aug

Had little sleep. Woke up at 9am and we went out for breakfast. Had breakfast at Ah-Mei's Toast at the railway mall. When we headed back to hubby's car, we realise a dent on the side of the door. We realise the family that park their car beside us loiter around our car when we were walking towards them. Hubby immediately went to confront them but they deny it and there is nothing or no proof to say that they have reversed into our car. Hubby had no choice but to apologise to the family. The curprits daugther was very rude and told us that we spoiled their day. All we can do is to curse them when they left.

Hubby is visibly upset. I didnt know what to say. Hubby drop us off back at the condo and went off to do his errants. When we were back at the condo, we played various old videos of our group. It brought back alot of fond memories and laughter. Waitied for monkey to reach us and we played mahjong again while waiting for the rest of the group to arrive.I was actually quite upset with the attendance. Previously we head count more then 10. Then we only have 6. Of
cos, we understand some ppl are really really sick but some people didnt even have the courtesy even to call and tell us that they are not coming. How rude right? Waste our food, wasted our effort to plan. Sigh.

My friend say that the important thing is that we had fun. I agreed over the years, the poor attendance really chills me and sometimes I just refuse to plan anything at all. Oh Yes the Neo Garden Catering is really good and the food all came in nice, clean and warm condition. It also
came with full set of cutlery , Tongs serving spoons, and even rubbish bags. Will definately engage them for future occasion.

Went home around 5.30pm hoping to catch the National Day Parade. It is still quite the usual stuff but the fireworks display is impressively Long... and extravagant. With the last fireworks dissappearing into the night sky, national stadium also faded away. It is it's last NDP . It will be torn down and make way for a newer stadium. This is the way of singapore, buildings come and go.... places get new face lift every few years. Welcome to Singapore, the city with ever changing landscape.
